NSF Contents Certified
NSF Contents Certified is a certification program that verifies a product’s contents match its label and are free from specified contaminants.
TestingNSFLabel AccuracyCertification
NSF Contents Certified focuses on alignment between label and content.
It is a product-level certification that verifies whether what is declared on the label is actually present, and whether contaminants are within defined limits.
Compared to broader NSF programs, its scope is narrower and more direct.
At a high level, certification centers on three signals:
- Label accuracy — whether ingredient identities and amounts match declared values
- Contaminant screening — whether harmful substances are below established thresholds
- Ongoing verification — whether testing is repeated to maintain consistency over time
This is a confirmation layer.
It does not assess formulation logic, dosing strategy, or intended use.
A product can be accurately labeled and consistently produced —
and still not deliver a meaningful outcome.
Accuracy is not adequacy.
