Standards
NSF Non-GMO
NSF Non-GMO is a certification program that verifies products are made without genetically modified organisms according to defined sourcing and testing criteria.
TestingNSFCertification
NSF Non-GMO addresses sourcing, not function.
It verifies that ingredients are derived from non-genetically modified sources, based on supply chain controls and testing protocols.
At a high level, certification centers on two signals:
- Ingredient sourcing verification — whether inputs are documented and controlled to exclude GMOs
- Testing and traceability — whether products are tested and supply chains are auditable
This is a preference-based standard.
It does not indicate potency, bioavailability, or formulation quality.
A non-GMO product can still be underdosed, unstable, or poorly designed.
The certification reflects how ingredients are sourced, not how the product performs.
