Our View
A strong budget-friendly fish oil on dose, especially for a one-softgel format, but the ethyl ester form and limited visible certification keep it below the top tier.
Details
One softgel provides 1400 mg fish oil and 1000 mg omega-3 fatty acids, with reported EPA and DHA around 683 mg and 252 mg. Nature Made says the oil is purified to remove PCBs, dioxins, furans, and mercury, but the page does not show the same IFOS-style testing signal as stronger fish oil reviews.
This is one of the more serious Nature Made fish oils.
The dose is the main reason.
One softgel provides 1400 mg fish oil and 1000 mg omega-3 fatty acids. The EPA and DHA yield is reported around 683 mg EPA and 252 mg DHA. That gives the product a meaningful active omega-3 dose without asking for two or three capsules per serving.
The tradeoff is form. Nature Made identifies the omega-3s as ethyl esters. That does not make the product bad, but it is a less elegant form choice than a strong triglyceride-form fish oil when everything else is equal.
The trust profile is solid for a mainstream brand. Nature Made says the fish oil is purified to remove PCBs, dioxins, furans, and mercury, and the brand has a serious retail quality position. Still, this page does not present the kind of visible IFOS 5-Star, USP Verified, or NSF Certified for Sport signal that would justify a higher trust score.
The formulation is simple. It is a burp-less softgel built around concentrated fish oil. That is useful if the main goal is a one-per-day omega-3 supplement with less fishy aftertaste, but it is not a more sophisticated formulation.
This is a good fish oil for someone who wants a high omega-3 amount in one softgel from a mainstream brand. It is less compelling if the priority is best-in-class testing transparency or triglyceride-form positioning.
